Is it possible to use one of those queen size camping cots without the inflatable mattress?

We have to sleep on cots for a while and are currently just using one person cots. We have quite a few cats and dogs and they like to sleep on and under the cots. The problem is that the proper combination of human and animals could exceed the weight limit for a cot over a period of time and the cot could collapse. One or more cats could potentially get hurt/killed if that happens. I was thinking of trying one of the queen size cots because of the increased weight limits. But they all come with air mattresses. An air mattress wouldn’t last 5 minutes in my house. The single cots are ok without a mattress. the fabric provides enough support, but is the same true of the queen size ones? Can they be used without the air mattress or would it just be a waste of money to try it? Sleeping on the floor is not an option. Anyone have any experience with this? I tried calling the manufacturer but they couldn’t give me an answer.

try it and see, weight factors aside these cots are supposed to handle quite a bit. The last one I tried popped a hole and by morning it was flat and although having a stiff neck the next day the bed still held together.
