Beach Boomerang

Florida – Pensacola, Navarre or Destin Beaches?
I have heard may people say that Pensacola Beach is the best. I lived in Navarre where the sand is like sugar and the emerald green waters are unmatched in my world tours. Destin offers similar but is a tourist destination, while Navarre is not. Has anyone been to Navarre Beaches and do you agree with me?
I was known as “Boomer” there because I could throw 4 boomerangs at one time, (catch only three to date) and people would come to me and ask me to show them how to throw one. Most of them threw them like a frisbee, which doesn’t work, but I tried to show them.
On one occasion, I helped a sea turtle back to the ocean because he was stranded between a sand bar during low tide. A couple with their young son came by and I let the boy touch the turtle. I do not think he will ever forget that and I’m sure I won’t either. Navarre beach to be is better than any in the world, if not for just this singular incident.
What do you think of these beaches or what I have said?
As a small child and as a teenager we used to go out to Navarre Beach even though Pensacola Beach is a lot closer. Navarre Beach had less traffic and was more laid back. Still is. Just a few years back (prior to Ivan), my Sunday afternoons were spent with friends watching the sunset at Juana’s Pagoda and when we left there whatever the time, we would go to Barracuda’s and eat and sometimes take a walk on the beach. Hurricane’s Ivan and Dennis did a number on Navarre Beach, but just like Pensacola Beach they’re rebuilding and coming back better than ever.
I think Destin has the prettiest water great for swimming and boating. I went on my first salt water fishing adventure with some friends out of Destin. Oh I was sooooo sick! But I had a great time until that point. My friends (all seasoned gulf fishers) and I have had a good laugh about it ever since. I learned that I was not a gulf fisherman. I’ll stick to the freshwater or bay fishing. Destin is a big tourist DESTINation though.
Pensacola, I love it. I love Quietwater Beach is a wonderful place for jet skiing and walks along the gulf are quite the treat.
I think the memories are great no matter which of these three beaches they involve. I wish I’d met you on Navarre Beach during your Boomerang days. I never have been able to throw one of those things!
