catholic school?

my daughter has just started school at a catholic school.
she is not catholic but it is the best school in the area,
lately she has been complaining of the teacher picking on her.
she says she shouts at her for not being able to put her coat on herself(she only turned 3 on 16th of feb)
she is fully toilet trained but needs help with her belt(yet came home yesterday soaked and said teacher would not open her belt and must learn to do it herself.
this morning she took a leaf out of the playground and showed it to the teacher saying look ive got a leaf and i heard her say to my daughter “so what look ive got a flower” in a quite nasty tone.
am i overreacting or do you think there may be a problem any help would be great thanks.

I would definately have a conference with this teacher AND the principal. I grew up in a catholic school (I am 22 years old)and they are much different now than the horror stories you hear from people about terribly mean nuns/teachers. There is absolutely no excuse for her to treat your daughter like that! If there are two preschool classes, I would ask about switching her to the other class. I would also ask if you could sit in one day while she is at school because you want to observe this relationship. And don’t let them tell you they have policies against it… Although their rules are a little relaxed compared to public schools, YOU have complete control over any situation involving your child and have the right to observe her in the classroom.
