Games Consoles – Are They Bad For Children
For many parents games consoles and whether or not they should let their children play with them is a major concern. This issue is debated quite frequently and there are convincing arguments by those on either side of the table. Parents who do not allow their children to go anywhere near a games console will see those who do let their children play on them as bad parents. But for those who do allow their children to play with games consoles, there is an argument that as well as being entertaining for children, games consoles provide other benefits too. We live in a world of computers and playing games may give kids an advantage in this world.
Middle ground which can be quite beneficial is often missed out by us as a lot of us tend to see things only in black and white. It is not fair to say that a games console is good or bad; the main thing to think about is the way that they are used. Obviously a child should not be allowed to spend every minute of the day on a computer or games console. On the other hand, occasionally playing computer games can be educational as well as good fun. Parents can take the time to help children choose the games that they are playing so that they will know that their children are only playing suitable games. Monitoring how much time the child is spending playing games is important.
It can be very lonely for a child who is not allowed to play these computer games at all at home. You may find that they will take matters into their own hands and play at a friends house. And they could start to have some resentful feelings towards their parents. Children who have been deprived of something growing up might go the completely opposite way when they have children of their own and could end up letting their own children play too many computer games; which is not the best situation either. The best solution is for parents to find a middle way of acceptable game console use.
Memory Cards are items found in a lot of things in today’s day and age. R4 cards can give you a great example of a memory card. One more that you could find on your travels is the R4i.
