Climbing Tractor

Here’s some more of my novel–I will try to skip mundane, but not necessary information. How is it?

(This is the end of part I of introduction)
Jean was awake in a second and saw that it was night. Something heavy was in her lap and the car was swerving all over the highway. Wesley’s head was in her lap. What was this, she thought, a joke? Reaching down she stuck her hands under it to wake him and pulled them out dripping. It must be one of the girls Cool-Aid drinks but then the smell assailed her nostrils and she knew it wasn’t a drink. Hyperventilating, she reached up and turned the light on, simitaniously climbing to the driver’s seat, pushing her husband out of the way. When the light flooded the car she saw the tiny tell-tale mark of the assassin’s bullet; only one trained could recognize the tiny round hole.
Her children! She turned and saw they were still sleeping. Getting behind the wheel she noticed a tractor trailer to their left end. She stepped on the gas to escape it and at that instant it turned into their lane crushing the back end of their car.

i haven’t read any of the rest of your novel, but it sounds great. i would definately buy it and read it.
