Control Kite
Are there really kite competitions in Afghanistan like those written about in the Kite Runner?
They sounded like really cool things to me, are they real?
How do the people controlling the kite keep themselves from being cut by the glass on the string?
While I’m not familiar with the Kite Runner story, I CAN vouch for the popularity of kites in Afghanistan. A favorite past time for children AND adults, the new Afghan government has been known to hand out kites to children when visiting some of the districts.
