I am trying to re-install Windows but when I turn on the computer I get this message?

Hello, I asked a question about my laptop, but regarding my desktop, I am trying to reinstall the operating system. When I turn on the computer it is a plain black screen with the following words in white and caps “DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER”

You need to make your computer boot from your CD drive and not the hard drive. You may have to go into the BIOs and change the boot order or hit a certain key at boot to load the boot menu. Just watch as your computer boots and see if it says to hit a certain key to go into “Setup” or “boot menu”.

If there is an option for both choose boot menu, otherwise choose setup. In the boot menu choose the cd or dvd drive as the boot drive.

If you have to go to the setup screen look for an option to change boot order and make the cd or dvd drive the first option.
