Drop Falls
How does a rain drop stay together when it falls so far up in the sky?
Just a random thought, that’s all 
Does it fall from the sky as a rain drop? Or does all the water in a cloud fall at once but hit the ground in drops?
Again, just a thought
The rain falls in droplets once each droplets grows big and heavy enough that the rising air can no longer keep it from falling towards the ground surface.
The water tension found on the surface of the raindrop is what mainly keeps it from breaking apart as it falls through the air. However, water tension may not be strong enough to keep a droplet from breaking apart as it falls if the droplet gets too big in size.
