Things To See And Do While On Holiday In Northern France

The Manche

This 200 mile stretch of coastline is a great location to pick a campsite if you want to stay nearby some of the finest beaches in Normandy.  Several of of this area’s beaches have been granted European blue flag satus.  Resorts of particular merit include: Brehal, Agon Coutainville, Gouville sur Mer and Sciotot Beach, Les Pieux.

The Seine –Maritime

Once more a segment of Normandy coastline that is crammed with dazzling sands this is one more great site to go camping if you’re a fan of the beach. Attractive beaches include Etretat, Saint-Valery-en-Caus and Plage du Havre.

Calvados

More great beaches can be found here, as well as a selection of excellent water sports services for those who would like to try their hand at windsurfing or kayaking for example.  Hiring a boat is also a popular attraction of this area, particularly with people who would like a change from the usual routine – take to the open seas!

D-Day Landing Beaches

The Normandy coastline has some extremely historic yet haunting beaches amongst its sandy expanses. The five D-Day landing beaches (Utah , Omaha , Gold, Juno and Sword) make a reflective and interesting visit for those holidaymakers interested in history. 

Surfing and Camping in Normandy

If you are independent and holiday in the great outdoors by caravanning or camping, you may be the sort of person who likes to hit the waves too! There are some wonderful areas for surfing in the region with chiefly super locations being: Baubigny, Le Rozel, Vauville, L’Anse du Brick, Les Petites Dalles, Etretat and Trouville.
