Keep An Eye On Children Playing For Pointers For Home Science Projects For Kids
It is not a problem to find some home science projects for kids. Without the kids knowing, you can watch them while they play and you will see all kinds of informal science experiments going on without all the data collecting you need for school assignments. The rest of the things you do will be in there.
When children play, they are always coming up with new ideas of things to do or trying different ways to do stuff to make it better. When you watch kids sled down the hill in the winter, you will see them figure out if they should be on their tummy or to sit up, or where on the hill to build a “jump,” or if their is one place at the top of the hill that sends your the furthest, how mant to pile on, or inflatable tubes, toboggans or saucer sleds. They are having a great fun time and without realizing doing some science experiments at home in the back yard.
Have you ever seen kids (and Dads) build a path around a sandcastle at the beach? Or building a creation out of Leggos? (without directions of course) ? Does the wooden bat work better than the metals ones? Can you catch fireflies without letting the ones you have fly out when new ones go in? How many pedals do you need to let you glide the furtherst?
It really does have all the makings for a science fair project you just have to keep track of what you do, and come up with conclusions. It could be the starting point for a new idea, like bike glicing can jump to Hot Wheels and how far they can go on different surfaces. So when the day comes and your child complains that they just can’t come up with an idea for a science experiment, you can have them remember some of their play fun and before you know it there will be lots of ideas of science projects for kids to do at home.
