Welcome once again to the ongoing video series about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder which is brought to you by MegaTech, Incorporated.People withAttention De ficit Hyperactivity Disorder, are provided with technological treatments by MegaTech, Incorporated. The Attention Deficit Hyperactivity treatment game, called Cups and Balls, is made by MegaTech, Incorporated.  Please refer to the Attention Deficit Disorder Game. com for you free use of the game. This ttreatment game supplies therapeutic benefit to a person with ADHD to assist them to strenghten their ability to focus and pay attention..  In this series today, we’re looking at, “What Is the Prognosis of persons with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder? An important aspect of the treatment of people with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is :rognosis Testing.  Many clinicians assess clients for their particular condition like Attention Deficit Hyperactivity.going immediately from the diagnosis stage to establishing treatment plan. The treatment plan should be created after prognosis testing instead of after the diagnosis.Let’s say that you go to your doctor and he assesses your symptoms by interview. The next set of actions to take occurs to him.  He then takes medical tests; things like x-rays, lab work, and imaging in some sort of ways.A diagnosis is achieved by bringing together all the results.

Maybe his diagnosis was that of cancer. Then what treatment for cancer would be chosen? The possibilities could be medications, chemotherapy, radiation, and perhaps at some point, radical surgeries?Treatment plans may contain add-ins such as wigs, support groups, as well as religious activities; to elevate the quality of life for people living with cancer? That may be true. That treatment may be the right one for a person diagnosed with cancer. That may be appropriate if the cancer is in the early stages. However, what if it is terminal, being advanced and invading the entire body.  What then would be the treatment? Pain management, spirituality, pallitive care are possibilities.  Maybe what we call “close” therapy, going for close, enjoying life’s final days, reprioritizing quality of life in some way.these two treatment plans are radically different and actually oppose each other. What causes such a great difference? What determining factor differentiated the two treatment plans? Well, it is the prognosis. It is NOT the diagosis which determines direction of the treatment,, but rather the prognosis instead.

And the same is said for psychiatric conditions as well,  such as Attention Deficit Disorder.

Prognosis testing is a vital part of the assessment process.  Prognosis directs what kinds of treatment. The amount of treatment, the limits and depth required within the whole treatment plan which establishes the safety and welfare of the patient. What is prognosis testing? How is that done? What more is there? Basically, it is determining the intensity or the levels of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity behavioral symptoms that are demonstrated in a person’s life and to what degree the person struggles with those symptoms on a daily basis~Basically, it is determining to what level ADHD symptoms disrupt a person’s life and daily routine.}~Essentially, it is identifying the intensity or levels of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder behavioral symptoms which express in an individual’s life and at what level the person struggles throughout each day~Essentially, it identifying to what degree ADHD symptoms are interrupitng a person’s daily life and routine.}.

the degree of intensity with the ADHD symptoms can be measured as part of prognosis testing. Many tools are available to accomplish this with.  The most common is the use of the “Diagnostic & Statistic Manual of Mental Disorders,” what is referred to as the “The DSM.there is a five layer axis system used in diagnosis and the fifthe layer is named, “he Global Assessment Functioning Scale”.How widely a person’s life is affected by a certain set of symptoms, specifically ADHD. So this scale runs on an intensity measure  from zero to one hundred, in units of ten: ten, twenty, thirty, forty, all the way up to a hundred and each of these are behaviorally defined in terms of debilitation or ability.in relationship to the degree to which it impacts the patients life and living. So their overall health, safety and welfare can be measured in terms of the intensity of their ADHD symptoms.  We can use ADHD scales like the Conner’s Scales to measure their symptoms and how much and intensities of.

A simple rule of thirds is used to simplify the assessment of the levels of ADHD symptoms. For example, the upper third. For people who have mild symptoms of AHDHD, they are grouped in within the functioning higher third. In spite of ADHD symptoms, a patient can successfully maintain on a daily basis with consistent supports, adjuncts and coping strategies.  And they function relatively well with the occasional disruptions of the day of the ADHD symptoms.

However, we also have the moderate degree of dysfunctioning.  Within this moderate degree of dysfunction.Perhaps a small amount of medicine is prescribed.  They might need some assistance in the day for supports in coping and managing structure in the day.  They might need help with organizational skills, how to keep up with things where they need to be.

Then we have the third third in this rule of thirds. So what is identified is the dysfunctional third.Ttraditional treatments usually are not effective with these people.A high level of intensity with their ADHD symptoms prevent them from even functioning in life and living. They must have mediacation, after all.they have ti have a more support.Aid is needed.  They need help.A great need is organizational skills.Rehabilitation may be necessary including assistance during the day with managing health, safety and welfare issues, such as completion of daily tasks and impulsiveness.

We can also measure intensity of discomfort as well in terms of coming up with our results and our prognosis testing.  After we determine the prognosis or intensity or how much ADHD is dysfunctioning,  we can then begin to develop the treatment plan. The degree of treatments can be further validated by the prognosis.Prognosis testing strongly indicates what supports are needed for recovery and daily functioning in their life.

We will look at specific treatments in the next videos to come~The}.   In this video we’re just focusing on the importance of Prognosis Testing.  And the value of understanding,  comparing one successful person to another. Some people with ADHD may be very successful in their life because their symptoms may be less intense. And you should not make comparisons that if one person does not need meds with their ADHD, then nobody does and that’s just an unrealistic assumption.

So please view also the other companion training videos in this continueing series on ADHD.the i nformation provided will be on the symptoms of ADHD, the causes, as well as ways to diagnose it.We will also address other co-existing conditions that are associated wth ADHDi.
