Wearing American Eagle or Abercrombie in Japan?

Im going to Tokyo and Kyoto next month and am wondering if its ok to wear these American brands (Im American)? Like will I get mugged for standing out and do the majority of Japanese people look down on this? Will they think it’s cool?

These brands and similarly styled clothing are already worn in Japan by everyday people.

Most Japanese do not form strong opinions about the fashion choices of foreigners. If you are not Asian most Japanese will think you are American and wearing American clothing.

There is nothing bad, wrong or offensive about wearing American made clothing. Nearly all young Japanese wear some American made clothing.
