Is it okay to feed a large breed puppy “small breeds adult formula”?

My german shepherd mix puppy is 3 months. Today my friends have been feeding him way too much dog treats and SMALL BREEDS ADULT FORMULA dog food. Will it stunt his growth if I feed him sMALL BREEDS ADULT FORMULA dog food instead of LARGE BREED PUPPY FORMULA?

On the short term it will not hurt him. however the scientists who studied canine nutrition for years have developed a formula that will ensure proper growth for different dogs, ie puppy food, senior dog food and large breed puppy food.
Based on their scientific knowledge they have discovered that feeding large breed dogs certain elements in their diet will ensure good growth rates and generally reduce long term problems.
When I foster puppies, irrespective of size – I feed large breed pup food. This food contains everything and more to give the neglected pups a good start.
Stick to the formula made for your dog. Both you and your dog will benifit in the end!!
