Old Plastic

Reducing Ware and Tear of New Doors
With budgets under pressure more companies are realizing the benefits of extending the life of doors and frames using door protection systems. These low cost products are ideal for both reconditioning worn doors or extending the life of new doors.
Heavy duty door protection panels provide much needed protection to vulnerable door surfaces from damage caused by vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Modern production methods make the cutting and shaping of panels possible to ensure they match your requirements exactly.
Door Protection Panels & Plates
Normally made from steel, aluminium or strong plastic, door protection panels provide vital protection to the most vulnerable areas of doors. The areas that are most susceptible to wear include the bottom of the door and the area alongside the door handle and panels tend to be attached to these areas. Custom made panels can be custom produced to match the varying sizes and shapes of the doors throughout your building.
Door Edge Protectors
Door Edge Protectors can give existing damaged doors a new lease of life. They can be fitted to new or existing doors and there is no limitation on the thickness of the door. Door Edge Protectors may be formed to suit radius or square edge doors and double swing corridor doors.
One hour and half hour fire ratings can be achieved with the addition of smoke/fire seals to fire doors.
Door Frame & Architrave Protectors
As door frames loose their shape over time, Door Frame & Architrave Protectors generally need to be made to measure. Typically they are manufactured from PVCu to provide impact resistance with no sharp edges.
Note: Cutting panels to size often leaves residue material and it’s often possible to make up Push/Kick Plates from such residue at a significantly reduced cost.
Accessibility
Partially sighted people are assisted by D- Plates. These brightly coloured panels help eliminate the need for new door handles as they help draw attention to that area of the door.
Colours and Finishes
A full colour palette will be available from most manufacturers along with small samples of the actual material. The effects of ware can be reduced by selecting a textured finish such as Hessian. Chamfered edges ensure a smooth, safe edge is attained once fitted.
Installation
Door panels, D plates and door edge protectors can be fixed using double sided tape by most handymen. Architrave and Frame systems are more complex and will need a greater level of experience to fit correctly.
