Pan Pellet

litter training baby ferret?
I just got my first baby male ferret about 3 weeks ago.He used his corner litter pan at once and i was thrilled.but after a few days he want to another corner.i would move the pan to that corner but then he started using the old corner again.I cannot tell what he wants I thought maybe because instead of using clay pellet litter like what the pan came with I refilled it with the green pellet marshall ferret litter.can someone help me here?
Here are some tips:
-A ferret won’t use a dirty litter box. If there’s more than 2 or 3 poops in there, they won’t use it.
-Sometimes, the boys get too big for the corner litter pans. You may have to get a bigger litter box so he’ll be comfortable. Some boys don’t like litter pans at all, so they just use newspaper or puppy pads.
-REWARD, not punishment, is how to train a ferret. Litter training is a life-long project with a ferret. If you stop praising a ferret for pottying where he should, he’ll potty whereever he wants. Ferrets aren’t like cats- they are very stubborn and they will only do the ‘trick’ when they know they will get attention. Everytime he makes a good potty, give him a treat and praise.
NEVER use clay, clumping litter for ferrets. They have very sensitive respiratory tracts and that type of litter is known to give them breathing problems.
