Patrol Car

Does every cop get a take home patrol car?
Does every cop get a take home patrol car? and i have seen this dodge patrol cars ,how do they choose which officer gets the best car or not? Thanks
No, only some agencies have take home cars as an option.
They usually assign take home cars if it benefits the department. This means if they need you at an incident you can drive straight there as opposed to driving from home to the police station and then to the incident.
Typically officers who have take home cars – take better care of the cars than cars that are shared – which gives the department a financial benefit.
The “best” car may be given to a more senior person, or someone who the Sergeant thinks works harder. Some cars may have special equipment installed that would be needed by a detective as opposed to a patrol officer, which could influence it.
I have noticed that usually State Troopers have take home cars
Usually deputies in larger more rural counties have take home cars
Every K9 officer has a take home car (The dog lives at their home)
Most SWAT has take home cars
All high ranking command staff have take home cars
Most detectives have them as well
Hope this helps

Eyes Open $6.21 Snow Patrol are frequently compared to Coldplay in the press, which seems strange as they write far better songs and do not appear to be quite so self-hating, nor as rich. Their delightfully dour little pop songs do touch on the melancholic side of things, but the lyrics are wonderfully slice-of-life descriptions. Singer/lyricist Gary Lightbody gives a shout-out to Sufjan Stevens when on the punch… |
