Corroplast – Corrugated Plastic Sheets

A tough yet light material is corrugated plastic, which can be easily crafter into sheets.Corrugated plastic sheets can be easily cut even with a simple craft knife.A wide variety of applications are facilitated by corrugated plastic sheets, such as large boxes for packaging, manufacturing sign boards, advertisement boards, etc.Corrugated plastic sheets are available in several colors and different patterns to suit a wide range of purposes depending upon the manufacturer.Corrugated plastic is also known as corroplast, correx, Corflute or twinplast.Sheet thickness is a parameter that determines the type of corrugated plastic sheet apart from color and appearance.Corrugated plastic sheets are available with thickness ranging from 2 mm to 12 mm so as to suit different application needs. Typical thickness for most sheets manufactured is 4 mm.

The corrugated plastic sheet is chemically inert, with pH factor approaching zero.Harsh surroundings cannot mar the performance of corrugated plastic sheets.This is because solvents like water, oil, etc. do not have any impact at room temperature on the corrugated plastic sheet.Thus it can be used as a product where exposure to harsh chemicals is concerned.

Depending upon the requirements of the customer, additional solvents or materials can be added while preparing corrugated plastic sheets.Many enhancements such as change in color, ultra violet protection, flame and static charge protection, etc. are possible using such techniques.All twin wall profile sheets used for different purposes are covered under such methods.To print multiple designs on the same board made up of corrugated plastic sheets, solvent based adhesion technique is used.

Apart from signboards and packaging, corrugated plastic sheets are used for making specialized cages for guinea pigs and other domestic pets.Many people involved with remote controlled aircraft designs also employ the use of corrugated plastic sheets to manufacture nearly indestructible model planes with a simple design.Heat recovery ventilation employs the use of air-to-air heat exchangers. Such corrugated plastic sheets are used in such exchangers alternating with spacer material.One of the air streams passes through the channel, while the other passes through the exterior surfaces of stacked corrugated sheets.

Corrugated plastic sheets are highly durable and hence are used for packaging material.Such sheets are ideal for environment conscious firms. Also the overall manufacturing cost of corrugated plastic sheets is not much.Polypropylene is used to manufacture corrugated plastic sheets, which is a recyclable material.
