Outdoor Survival Supplies

4.      Include a flashlight, compass, folding shovel, plastic zipper bags, needles and thread, safety pins, knife in a safe place. A good knife may be the most necessary of all the outdoor survival supplies. A good knife will help to cut leaves and branches, skin an animal and clean a fish.
5.      A first aid kit is a must. It should include sterile gauze, antiseptic wipes, soap, adhesive tape, tweezers, calamine lotion, scissors, alcohol, antihistamine and pain reliever are part of the necessary survival tools. If you include this first aid kit as part of your outdoor survival supplies you will be able to curb problems needing medical attention until help arrives.
6.      Mirror or whistle to signal in case you are lost, should be part of your outdoor survival supplies.
7.      A laminated ID tag that has your name, phone number, address, birthday, allergies, emergency contacts are high on the list of emergency outdoor survival supplies. In the event of an accident, emergency personnel will have no questions about whom you are or who should be contacted. Any medical conditions should also be noted.

If you have access to a GPS it should be with you. It will be a great help in the event that you get lost. Some cellular phones have location mechanisms that will allow searchers to find you if you cannot find them. Most of the seasoned wilderness travelers use a compass and maps to find their way, but it may not work for the less experienced wilderness trekkers.
