Why Guys Will Forever Love The Color Black

Men need to let women in on a certain color secret that all men understand and that no women get, and that’s that black is a guy’s best friend. This special guy color attracts men like a free buffet bar attracts a herd of Weight Watchers rejects for a few reasons. It certainly is a very popular color and many a guy has a lot of black things in his ‘wardrobe, ‘ if you want to call the pile of clothing he selects from a wardrobe, that is. Truly, Black never goes out of style. At least for guy.

But that’s probably not the biggest reason why men of any age love the color. No, it’s probably more true that they love it because it works exceedingly well at hiding a lot of dirt. Who wouldn’t love something black in color — at least if it’s a guy — that not only can make something look good but keep people from seeing how truly and hideously dirty it is. Even a simple black helmet for motorcycle riding never has to be cleaned when it’s in black.

In truth, keeping people — especially women — from seeing all of the dirt that probably coats everything a man owns is an important factor in how and why men by certain things and the colors they buy those things in. Think about it; the guy can get away with wearing a black colored pair of pants for three or more months in a row without it ever having to get close to approaching that death machine it’s also known as a washing machine.

For most guys, even picking out something as simple as a watch will require thinking about how it can best appear to be clean when it’s not. This may be why they go for a black sport watch, after busily leafing through the discount store fliers for a good eight dollar model, it must be said. What guy, really, ever considers throwing down three grand on a Swiss watch that needs to be cleaned all the time and doesn’t come in black?

In reality, there’s really no deep-dark secret behind why guys love the color black. In fact, most men, boys and even old men worship the color because it also helps them quickly wash off the odd ketchup stain or motor oil stain that ends up on their black jeans. Try that little stunt while wearing a pair of stylish light colored khakis and see the looks that will be cast a guy’s way, especially if that stain is near the crotch area.

Is there, in truth, anything to really complain about when it comes to boys, men or guys in general and the color black? The only possible downside might be when it comes to the guy who insists on covering himself from head to toe in it. He might, unfortunately, be mistaken for some foot soldier in some double worshiping demonic cult, though his cutesy men’s sport watch with the glow-in-the-dark numbers would probably give him away for the World of Warcraft practitioner he really is.

So then; it is well that the color black has decided to grace the presence of most guys, especially if they’re concerned about not having to wash those pesky black pants after just 13 or 14 uses. And though a guy is in danger of being mistaken for some kind of ninja assassin if he falls too in love with the color black, its slimming properties can make even the most portly among the guy population look practically svelte, and that’s never a bad thing, is it?
