I am not good at housekeeping, I need help!?

All my life I have never been a “suzy homemaker”. My apartment is cluttered and once in a while I get the energy to clean, but most of the time I can’t clean my home because of a disorder that I have. Because I have a Section 8 where they must inpsect my place once a year, I try so hard, but still can’t get my place clean. I get hurt and embarrassed when they come to inspect. I have arthritis in my hands, low thyroid function which I’m being treated for, depression and anxiety issues. My hands hurt when I try to do household cleaning. What can I do? This is so embarassing and I end up feeling very hurt and crying when the inspectors leave because they don’t understand, I’m a hopeless slob! I was BORN that way! My poor husband puts up with it. He’s unemployed and does the dishes for me, but that’s about it. As far as putting big things away or helping me get rid of them, he can’t or doesn’t want to do it. HELP!

I know of a wonderful site that has helped thousands of “she’s” (Sidetracked Home Executives) It is www.flylady.net. Her premise is that you can do anything for 15 minutes. Take a look at her site. She says don’t look at the whole picture, but rather take baby steps and soon your home will be a beautiful safe haven. I am speaking from experience, her site has helped me immensely. But don’t jump in with both feet at first. Just start slow at first.
