Tin Childs

Is there a place in Toronto where I can buy a slingshot or the materials needed to make one?
I’m looking for something in between one that is a weapon and and a childs toy, if none exist more to the toy format. Just because I dont want to hurt someone or something while playing around but it would be nice if it could atleast dent tin cans. Also, what should I use as ammo? Would little pond rocks from the dollar store be too heavy?
If you can find a forked branch and an elastic band you can make your own, a bit of leather and surgical tubing will make an even better band.
You can also cut the Y from nearly any sturdy material.
I am not sure whether it is legal in Canada to use a slingshot, and whatever you do, remember that short distance it is a killing weapon.
Most common slingshot ammo are glass or metal marbles or ball bearings balls in the right size.
Here is a link to a sling site, they have a few slingshot enthusiasts too, and there is some info on the site on slingshots, use the search option or read the other primitive weapons board.
If you join you can ask and get help.
