How do you train a cat to come to its name?

Right now I’m using a little mouse toy filled with catnip. They like it, and it works, but soon they forget again! I’m using the clicker method, but since I don’t have one, I make a clicking noise with my mouth.
They don’t know their names yet. And I don’t want them to learn their names so I can enter them in shows, I want them to learn their names because my mom wants them to learn their names!

We did our cats the same way we did our dogs. We only call them by their name all the time. When you talk to them use their name as much as possible. Then one day they just started comming by their name.
