Turtle Sprinkler
Claying and waxing my car?

In the last month my car has come up with some really tough water spots on the side where its been getting sprayed with sprinklers. I’m very careful about keeping my car clean so this was upsetting. I use a car wash concentrate when I do wash, and I dry by hand with microfiber towels and about 4-6 weeks I wax or touch up. At this point I’ve been using the Turtle Wax Ice Paste. I like it because with all the black details on my car its less noticeable if I don’t get it all off.

I couldn’t wash the water spots off, and I used Meguiar’s Ultimate Quick Detailer to try to get the spots off. A lot came off, but not all.

So if I do decide to clay my car, would this help get the remaining water spots off, and when I wax it can I still use the Turtle Wax Ice, or should it be something else.

My car is less than 1 yr old.
I don’t wax my car in direct sunlight and all the spots are on the one side with the sprinklers, and only high enough for the sprinklers to reach.

Hard water spots can be a pain to remove. Claying might work and is worth a try.

Typically you need to use a mild acid to break the bond between the spots and your paint. Try wiping on some vinegar (yes, vinegar) with a paper towel and see how that works.

Beyond that you will need to use an abrasive polish and remove the spots mechanically. While I do not care for Turtle Wax products, their Ice Liquid Clay might be your best choice. You will probably have to wash your car again once you’ve used the liquid clay, then wax it.
