Can an Xbox 360 read a video file located inside a folder on a disk?

It was a burnable DVD that had several video files inside a folder on the disk. Any help would be appreciated.
The files are AVI, but what I want to ask is will it, under perfect circumstances, read files that are inside a folder? ie. Pop the disk into your PC, open the disk, double click a folder to view the files

depends on the video format, and also if you have the media update from Xbox Live.

Of course it can read files, or else there would be no point in networking an Xbox.
