Mothers Day Is Celebrated Around The Globe

In spite of it feeling as if the winter holidays were just recently was here, we’re already coming up on Mother’s Day in the U.S: The holiday will be on the 2nd Sunday in May. But Americans aren’t the only ones who observe Mother’s Day on that Sunday. Taiwan, Ecuador, Tonga, Brazil, Turkey, Uganda, Malaysia, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and many others also do.

That’s in all probability why, starting in March or April, so many folks go online searching for vintage Mother’s Day greeting cards, free Mothers Day clip art, free printable Mother’s Day certificates and other related items. Not all children have the money to buy Mother’s Day gifts, invitations and decorations, so these free images come in very handy. Truthfully, however, the Mother’s Day vintage cards, printable decorations, invitations and clip art can require a bit of talent to use. So those might be a little more difficult to use unless you’re a crafty type person. The free holiday gift certificates are easy to use though. Just print one out, sign it and give it to your mom.

May Isn’t the Only Month for Moms

There are also variations of Mother’s Day, called Parents’ Day, which is celebrated on May 8 in Albania and South Korea, and The Mothers and Children’s Day, which is celebrated in Mongolia on June 1.

It’s pretty clear that the desire to honor Mother is a pretty universal one, given that more or less every region on Earth has some form of Mother’s Day celebration. It’s heartwarming to note that even people in locations that may seem like adversaries to us have the common bond of paying homage to the women who gave them life.
